Unfortunately, this means that there are people who use our brands to attempt to carry out fraudulent schemes. We are aware of a number of fraudulent communications (usually e-mails, letters, websites or social media accounts) that are using our firm’s name and logo claiming to be from our firm or associated entities. King & Wood Mallesons takes steps to protect our brand from misuse but cannot always be aware of each incident. Please follow these steps to protect yourself from a scam.

How can you protect yourself?

  • Verify KWM contact information on our official websites and social media accounts (see below).
  • The contact information listed on our websites will always be the most accurate information for King & Wood Mallesons and its Partners, employees and associated entities. We encourage you to independently verify details given to you on any email, letter or telephone call if you have reason to believe that the communication is not legitimate.
  • If you receive a suspicious communication purporting to be from King & Wood Mallesons or its associated entities and are unsure as to its authenticity, please do not respond, click on any links or open any attachments. Please use the information on our website to verify its authenticity and if that cannot be done please contact the Privacy Officer at King & Wood Mallesons for your region below and attach any relevant examples or screenshots in the email:

Types of incidents

The most common frauds and scams that are known to us are listed below. This list is not exhaustive. The firm takes active steps to report sites that are fraudulent, however, third parties can take time to respond to these requests.

The below examples include the unauthorised use of our name, address, logo, photos and profiles of our people, or purport to be from an individual who works at King & Wood Mallesons. In some cases they give a sense of urgency to prompt the recipient into responding.
