Extensive experience

Our planning and environment experience includes:

  • EMR Capital: on one of the most significant mining acquisition and financing transactions completed in the middle of 2020 during the COVID-19 crisis - a competitive deal to secure the gold mining tenements associated with the Ravenswood Gold Mine in Queensland. Ravenswood Gold Mine has 51 mining tenements and various environmental approvals with associated estimated rehabilitation costs of greater than A$100 million.
  • Dexus: on the landmark A$2 billion Brisbane CBD Waterfront Precinct redevelopment in Queensland including assisting with securing development approvals for the project, providing advice on planning, infrastructure, heritage and access issues and negotiating a complex infrastructure agreement with Brisbane City Council to facilitate new river walk infrastructure.
  • Stockland: on its urban growth area developments including Minta Farm, Cloverton and Craigieburn West in Victoria; scope included advising on rezoning and subdivision strategy and permit applications, as well as representation in relation to Craigieburn West Precinct Structure Plan, amendments to the Hume Planning Scheme and at multiple panel hearings.
